Each year the Center holds three fund raising events. The Center participates in the Lady Bug Ball event and then presents its Annual Secret Garden Tour. Also this year, SLWDC will hold an "Art Auction."
2010 Lady Bug Ball |
Each year the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center participants the annual "Lady Bug Ball" sponsored by RE/MAX Real Estate. The portion of the proceeds the Center receives is used to send teachers to professional development seminars. This year the Lady Bug Ball will be Saturday April 17 at Southdown Plantation. If you would like to become a sponsor for the Center's booths, fill out the sponsorship form and mail it back with your sponsorship to address on the form.
2010 "Secret" Garden Tour |
The 2010 "Secret" Garden Tour has been canceled. The event was canceled due to abnormal cold weather this past winter.

South Louisiana Starving Artist Festival |
The Holiday Inn of Houma, Cajun Lodging, LLC & the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center are joining together to present the South Louisiana Starving Artist Festival. The festival is scheduled for September 18, 2010 from 9am - 4pm at the Holiday Inn on MLK Blvd. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Center.
